Lunch Aide, Early Morning, Recess Aide, and Crossing Guard:
Job Summary
Lunch Aide/Recess Aide:
- Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals
- Maintain regular attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Circulates among the tables during mealtime so as to be available to children who need help or resolve problems that arise.
- Supervise students and maintain a cooperative atmosphere during recess
- Circulate among students and attempt to resolve minor problems as they arise.
- Inform building administration immediately of any serious disciplinary problems.
Early Morning Aide and Crossing Guard
- Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
- Guide or control vehicular or pedestrian traffic at such places as the street.
- Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps through which pedestrians can cross streets.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
